But our hearts are filled with a sense of joy, knowing she is now face to face with her Saviour, the Lover of her soul, the One who loved her and taught her how to love well, including those of us on the other side of the world. Now that she has gone on to be with Jesus, we feel that we should miss her more. Distance caused us to miss her a lot when she was alive. There are a few people who impact us in ways that are profound. She loved us deeply and we loved her deeply too. Both of us, and our two children, enjoyed a deep relationship with her. We are so grateful for her visits to India to “love on us”. Her influence on us and so many others was transformational. Reita was a spiritual mother to us and God used her to minister deep healing to us as a family. She let us feel the Father’s love through her words, her hugs and her life. Words are not enough to express our love and respect for dear Pastor Reita. Reita was truly a gift to us all and is now in heaven with her Lord and Savior. We will miss her positive happiness, her interest in our lives, her unyielding support … and her unbelievable ability to beat everyone at cribbage and cards. Wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, friend, teacher, counselor, missionary, and true blessing. She had a heart for missions, and unbounded love for her family – a family that grew with everyone she met. To say that mom was an amazing woman is an understatement. She was a licensed pastor in the Assembly of God church, but she was a minister all her life. She literally travelled around the world, and never planned to stop. Mom was an extreme and fearless traveler, with her focus on sharing the love of God with everyone. Mom instilled a love of nature in her children and grandchildren and showed us that every day can be a party. Over the next few years, they had four children with whom they shared their deep faith and love of family. She met Rey Erickson at Luther League in 1948 and they married in 1952. Reita was born to Robert and Anna Davids on October 21, 1932, on Summit Farm, outside of Bagley MN. In lieu of flowers, memorials should be sent to Cedar Valley Church Mission Fund. A private family interment will be held at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
Pastors Keith Kerstetter, Pastor Neal Rich and Pastor Dave Collins will preside.
